But that’s as far as the celebration goes the subsequent releases failed to leave a mark at the box office. And as expected, Rohit Shetty’s masala entertainer cop drama sent the cash registers ringing. The first one to hit the big screens was ‘ Sooryavanshi’ that booked the festive Diwali slot. Filmmakers pounced upon the opportunity and locked release dates for their films that had been awaiting a theatrical release for a long, long time. When movie theatres reopened in October after a lockdown of several months due to the pandemic, it brought a huge smile on the faces of film enthusiasts.
